Fresh & Easy is remodeling its stores to make fresh produce more prominent, according to the Orange County Register.
Tesco's US subsidiary recorded a $303 million loss last year, but increased sales 38% and wants to break even in the fiscal year 2012-2013.
It will bring fresh produce to the front of its stores and introduce a fourth tier to the bins that feature fruit and vegetables.
Spokesman Brendan Wonnacott told Fresh & Easy customers to expect more seasonal fresh produce to appear in stores over the next few months.
