Fresh & Easy is to close 12 stores temporarily as part of its overall review of its store portfolio as it looks to move towards profitability.The company said: “Fresh & Easy continues to grow and we are opening 25 stores between now and the end of March - so for every store we're closing temporarily, we are opening two. At this time, there is simply not enough growth in sales and customers at these stores to keep them open. We will close these stores over the coming weeks and we will re-open them when economic and business conditions warrant. We are offering all impacted employees a position at a nearby store.”
