French retailer Casino yesterday opened its first standalone drive-in outlet Casino Express, LSA reports. It is located in Lyon-Vénissieux where Carrefour opened its first Carrefour planet store. A second Casino Express will open in November in Mouans-Sartoux, in the Alpes-Maritimes, between Cannes and Grasse. Casino Express features a 17,000 sq ft warehouse, six terminals and 14 parking spaces. Customers can place their order online at casinoexpress.fr, which offers a range of 7,000 items.
Casino already operates nearly 80 Casino Drive outlets. In this case, the drive-in outlets are backed at exiting hypermarkets or supermarkets. Customers can place their order at mescoursescasino.fr, a site offering a range of 9,000 items.
